New Sony Trademark Hints to Probable MLB 15: The Show Announcement Soon; Will it Still be Cross-Gen?

On October 29th Sony Computer Entertainment filed for the registration of the trademark “Baseball is Better” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The tagline “Baseball is Better” has been used for a long while for MLB 14: The Show, and the fact that it’s being trademarked now very probably indicates that the publisher is preparing to announce MLB 15: The Show.

Considering that the series almost always gets its annual release in March (last year was an exception probably due to the release of the PS4), the announcement is definitely due. It’ll very possibly come at PlayStation Experience in December, since the Sony San Diego logo was included between the first batch of developers announced.

One question remains: will this episode still be cross-gen, or will Sony abandon the PS3 to let the series soar without old generation limitations?

We’ll have to wait and see, but we’re probably going to know very soon.
