I just don't understand some of the things that Namco is doing with Soul Calibur V. I understand that the game takes place seventeen years after Soul Calibur IV, I get it, but is this really a good enough reason to scrap so many beloved characters for cheesy replacements? Taki will be replaced by Natsu, Kilik will be replaced by Xiba (forgive the romanji spelling of his name in earlier posts as 'Sheba') and we can now practically confirm that Xianghua will be replaced by her daughter Leixia thanks to two newly revealed game-play videos.

Leixia is extremely similar to Xianghua, only a whole lot less interesting since her personality is clearly not her own. Furthermore, the efficiency of the game's AI can be observed in these videos. Why replace Xianghua with a character this similar to her? Why not just keep Xianghua? The world may never know the answers to these questions, but we will know whether or not this idea works when Soul Calibur V hits HD consoles on January 31st, 2012.  Hit the break for the game-play vids.
