Today Chris Roberts' Cloud Imperium Games released a brand new video of its upcoming game Star Citizen.

The video starts with a development update showcasing a variety of elements, including blackouts and redouts, close combat, the hologram system, particles and VFX, new shaders for space, outposts, stations, ship MFD (multi-function displays), audio, derelict ships, the Eclipse, and the Reclaimer.

While all of that is already impressive, what comes afterwards is decidedly spectacular, with an overview of the visuals and technology used for the planets and moons that are going to be gradually introduced into the game starting with the upcoming alpha 3.0.

You can check it out below, and if you want to see more, you can enjoy another video, and the one that came before.

Star Citizen is currently sitting on $153,659,236 in crowd funding, pledged by 1,836,818 gamers. For the sake of full disclosure, the author of this article is one of them.

The game is set to release exclusively for PC, including a single player portion named Squadron 42.
