Today Chucklefish Games announced a brand new feature that will be appearing in their game Starbound. Starting with update 1.3, players will be able to create their very own space stations.

All players will need to do is send up a probe, and your station will be deployed. When the station starts, it will have an entrance for your mech, as well as a teleporter. Of course, it can be expanded with a variety of different modules.

You can find screenshots and gifs of the new space stations, how you can deploy them, and how they function, at the end of this article.

Over the course of the past few months, Chucklefish Games has been announcing new features for update 1.3. Some of these features include mechs, spacestations, and more. At the time of this writing there is no release date for the update other than it's coming soon. The developer has stated in the past that this is the most ambitious post-release update for Starbound.

In addition to the update, the developer also reiterated that the Xbox One version of the game is still in development. They did, however, confirm that they are working with Blitworks on the port.

Starbound was initially released on PC on July 22nd, 2016. Console versions have been announced, however there is no release date at this time.
