Bethesda Softworks released a brand new gameplay trailer of The Evil Within, which will hit the shelves on October 14th for PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

The video showcases how the game goes back to the roots of survival horror by forcing the player to make every single bullet count, and expands on them with the ability to hide and sneak, and to turn traps into weapons against the haunted.

We also get a glimpse on the asylum, which will be the safe haven where we’ll be able to acquire perks and improve the main character’s skills in order to somehow give a bump to his scarce chances of survival.

Will Shinji Mikami manage to resurrect the glorious feelings of the early Resident Evil games? Only time will tell, but in the meanwhile you can check out the trailer below.
