A new video that shows off ten minutes of Shin Megami Tensei IV gameplay was released today, as well as some new screenshots of the game. Shin Megami Tensei IV releases tomorrow in Japan and on July 16th in North America.

The exclusive look at the game  by Japanese website 4Gamer shows how it's played with both 3DS screens, by actually displaying those screens at the same time. The top screen shows the 3D environments and battle area, while the lower screen displays the party members (the protagonist and up to three additional contracted demons) and the menu options. We get to see a demon contract formed, the protagonist use the personal computer device on his arm to access the menu and add points to his stats and fuse demons to create more powerful ones.

The video also shows a gameplay feature unique to the series: if the main character falls in battle, the game does not automatically end--instead the entire party must die. Even then, a special event will take place that allows him to come back to life at a cost.

Watch the video below and see for yourself how great Shin Megami Tensei IV looks and plays.
