Yes that’s a real picture, a tester at TT games leaked the image on Twitter, though it’s now been removed. While the overall layout of the tablet is basically the same, as you can see, the smaller control sticks have been replaced with the larger and more iconic analog sticks that look similar to those on previous Nintendo controllers.
We can’t know just yet if the change in control stick will actually affect gameplay at all, as I said, the new sticks look like those we’ve seen before and could have been changed on an art/marketing basis to make the Wii U appear more familiar to Nintendo veterans. It could also be the case that testers found that the smaller control sticks did not offer the same freedom of movement as the more traditional ones. Speculation is that the new sticks may also be clickable, but no confirmation yet.
