Sega announced today via a poster in front of the Alta Vision landmark screen in Shinjuku, Tokyo, that the next Yakuza game will be Ryu Ga Gotoku: Ishin, of which you can see the logo above.

Below you can also see the poster itself, courtesy of Twitter user @ririjin52. The platform, or platforms, for the new game haven't yet been specified.

What we do know is that the game will follow the footsteps of  Kenzan and will be set during the Bakumatsu period (circa 1850). The protagonist will be historical samurai and politician Ryoma Sakamoto, that was a leader of the movement to overthrow the Tokugawa shogunate and instrumental to bringing about the Meiji restoration that propelled Japan towards modernity and marked the fall of the samurai class.

Looks like I was wrong, and the times for a new mainline Yakuza title aren't yet mature, so we're instead getting a spin-off.
