NHL 14’s Cover Vote is Underway, Many Players Absent from Polling

The NHL’s lockout-shortened regular season is almost over, and with it comes the vote for NHL 14‘s cover athlete. Claude Giroux, captain of the Philadelphia Flyers, graced the cover of last year’s NHL 13. Many of the same scoring leaders and most valuable goaltenders from last year are at the top of the charts this year, even in lieu of the shortened season. Below is a list of the most productive skaters and goalies for the 2013-14 season, courtesy of nhl.com:

Only two of these players are featured in the official group of players eligible for NHL 14‘s cover, which can be seen here. Carl Hagelin and Ryan Callahan of the New York Rangers are also in the running.

NHL 14 is being developed by EA Canada and will be published by EA on September 10th, 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
