The upcoming indie adventure game Night in the Woods will hopefully keep gamers warm and cozy in the cold early part of the year, though the title has been set with a last-minute delay to the early part of February next year.

In an update on the game's Kickstarter page, the development team at Infinite Fall confirmed that Night in the Woods has a new release window of "somewhere in the first part of February," with the team assuring that the delay is "all normal stuff, nothing is on fire," and is mostly tied to getting the game optimized and ready for its multi-platform debut within a small development team.

Infinite Falls explained that the team is currently "waiting on some info from outside parties as to the exact date" that the game will launch, though assured that an exact release date for the title should arrive sometime around New Year's. While the delay is unfortunate for those that have been anticipating the title, it's only a few weeks from the game's original launch date that was in January.

Aside from the game's delay, the development team for Night in the Woods also announced that the team will be hosting a special developers livestream on Wednesday, December 21st, 2016 called "Longest Night Live," to coincide with December 21st being the longest night of the year during the winter solstice.

During the stream on Twitch, the development team will be playing both of the supplemental games that tie in to Night in the Woods -- "Longest Night" and "Lost Constellation" -- while providing live commentary and insight into the games' development, answering fan questions, and more.

Night in the Woods will release for PS4, PC, Mac, and Linux in February 2017.
