Originally launched in 2013 as the entry-level version of its popular handheld, the Nintendo 2DS has been a popular choice for parents to bring younger children into gaming, with the device soon to get a price drop below the $100 mark next week.

Nintendo has announced that its 2DS handheld - which offers a different form factor and removes 3D capabilities (for a lower price) - will receive a price drop from $99.99 to $79.99 starting on May 20th, 2016. Purchases of the system will also include a free copy of Mario Kart 7 pre-installed.
