Nintendo Accounts and My Nintendo are Heading to Europe March 2016

on December 2, 2015 10:19 AM

Earlier today, Nintendo revealed to us that the currently Japanese-exclusive Nintendo Accounts and My Nintendo programs would be coming to Australia next March. However, in a statement to DualShockers, Nintendo Europe confirmed that the program would be coming to European countries in the same timeframe:

We can confirm that it’s the same in Europe but I’m afraid I don’t have details on the US.

So far, Nintendo Accounts in Japan allow users to register their Nintendo Network ID, purchase digital downloads, send gifts, and receive notifications. Additionally, there is a Club Nintendo-esque point system integrated.

Though we have reached out to Nintendo of America and Canada for comment, there is no official confirmation about the programs’ release date in North America.
