Back on April 13th, Nintendo announced that it was ending production of the NES Classic Edition in North America, despite there still being substantial demand for more. Now, Nintendo has confirmed that production is ending in Europe and Japan as well, aka global production is being discontinued.

News of its end in Europe comes via Eurogamer who was provided the following statement from a Nintendo spokesperson:

"We can confirm that we are no longer manufacturing the Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System. If production resumes in the future, an update will be posted on the official Nintendo website."

A similar statement was provided to Siliconera, who reported that Nintendo of Japan has halted production of the its NES Classic equivalent, the Famicom Mini.

For those of you who missed the previous waves of the retro console but still want one, be sure to keep an eye out as the last shipments continue to be made until the end of the month: otherwise you will be left dealing with scalpers on eBay..and that's not fun.
