With just a few weeks to go until E3 2016, Nintendo is placing its bets by going all-in at the event with the first hands-on demo of its next The Legend of Zelda title for Wii U and the upcoming “NX,” while fans in NYC will also get the chance to experience the game hands-on during the week of E3.
Nintendo has announced that the company will be holding a “Super-Fan Signup Day” at the Nintendo NY Store in New York City, with fans in the area able to get hands-on time with the upcoming Zelda title during the week of E3.
The first 500 fans to lineup at the store before its opening at 9am will be able to receive wristbands and tickets, with the tickets allowing guests to reserve a spot to play the game during selected time slots between June 14-19, 2016.
Nintendo explained that “the six-day free event will begin at noon ET on June 14,” where fans are invited to watch gameplay of The Legend of Zelda being livestreamed from Nintendo’s booth at E3 2016 inside the Nintendo NY retail store and offering “the world’s first in-depth look at the game.” Starting at 3pm that day, “the first of 500 fans will begin sampling the game for the first time.”
During the six days of demos, Nintendo employees will be on-hand to provide “guided game-play demonstrations” for all to watch and enjoy at Nintendo NY, while trivia, giveaways, and more will also be provided for fans attending the event.
The next The Legend of Zelda title is currently in development for Wii U and Nintendo’s next console, currently codenamed the “NX,” and expected to release in March 2017.
