Nintendo Launches Digital Store on Amazon

on September 1, 2015 9:56 AM

Nintendo fans who like to buy their games digitally have a new option for obtaining their favorite titles now, as Nintendo has partnered with Amazon to open a digital download page on the popular shopping website. This is the first time players can buy a digital game for their Nintendo consoles anywhere outside of the official eShop.

The marketplace features 3DS, Wii U and Wii games, as well as their respective DLC and even virtual console titles. Players purchase the code via Amazon and will then be able to download the game directly to their consoles. There are no special deals or discounts on the marketplace as of now, but these games may be included in Amazon’s frequent sales in the future.

The new partnership features all of the recent titles from Nintendo, like Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon. You can also pre-purchase digital codes for upcoming games like Super Mario Maker.
