Nintendo is no longer interested in SNES Virtual Console titles according to CeeCee, the community manager for developer Natsume. On CeeCee’s Tumblr blog, there was a Q&A posted which answered Virtual Console specific questions. When asked if two Pocky & Rocky SNES games would ever come to the Virtual Console, CeeCee’s response was,

At this point, it’s unlikely we’ll see any other Natsume SNES games coming to the Virtual Console, as Nintendo’s interest has moved onto other classic systems.

CeeCee also explained the way Virtual Console titles are created, with Nintendo talking to the publisher and determining which game is best fit and potential to sell. Once decided Nintendo does the bulk of the work bringing the classic game onto modern consoles.

Nintendo leaving SNES in the dust is not that big of a surprise, as we have previously reported that Nintendo was moving towards bringing Nintendo DS and N64 games to the Wii U Virtual Console.
