Nintendo Promises “Hundreds” of AR Cards for Kid Icarus: Uprising

Not many new games for the 3DS have made use of the handheld’s AR functionality. Kid Icarus: Uprising, on the other hand, will. Nintendo has confirmed today that although each new copy of the game will come with six random cards, but hundreds of cards will be available. Nintendo will apparently be holding special events in which they will distribute some of the cards. Other than that I’m guessing they’re going to be sold in individual booster packs like trading cards. That would be pretty cool, anyway.

These AR cards will function in a mode separate from the main game where players can view augmented reality battles using two cards.I say that is a pretty cool feature but there is simply no way I’m going to pay money for any of these cards. Kid Icarus: Uprising will be available for the 3DS on March 23rd.
