As per Nintendo's tradition of celebrating the release of big new games for its handhelds (most notably in Japan), the company will be releasing a new special edition (and very pretty-looking) new 3DS XL (3DS LL in Japan) model to coincide with Monster Hunter 4.

Coming in "Rajang Gold" (named after one of the monsters from the upcoming game), the new 3DS XL model comes in a sterling gold and black colored design emblazoned with "Monster Hunter 4," and will be priced at 18,952 yen (approx. $186 US). The new handheld will be out in Japan on March 27th, however unlike the last special edition to be released for the game back in November, the new special edition will not be bundled with a copy of Monster Hunter 4.

The new Monster Hunter 4 edition 3DS XL hits in Japan on March 27th, and in the meantime you can check out some screenshots of the new handheld below:
