Nintendo Set New Records Last Year

Nintendo has proven once again that they are king by setting new sales records with the DS and Wii systems in 2010. The Wii sold more than 7 Million units for 3rd consecutive year, with the console itself selling more than 34 Million total units just in the United States. Proving that size doesn’t matter (sometimes), the DS has sold more than 47 Million units in the US since it’s 2004 launch.

With this year seeing an actual new version of the DS coming out (rather than just an ‘upgrade’ like the DSi or XL models), this trend isn’t likely to stop any time soon. I for one own both and fully intend on purchasing a 3DS this year, and I bow down to our Digital Overlords.

Hail to the King baby.
