After a long wait, Nintendo finally announced the release date and price of its upcoming new console, the Switch during a livestream from a press event in Tokyo.

The Switch will be priced at $299.99 and 29,980 yen, as many predicted. The console will launch in North America, Europe and Japan on March 3rd. European prices weren’t announced, but Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima recommended fans from the Old Continent to check with their local retailer.

After months of rumors and leaks, some turned out true and some definitely less true, now you finally know when you’ll be able to purchase a Nintendo Switch and for how much.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see if the price of the new console will lead it to success, or if the general public will consider it on the steep side, but we’ll have to wait a couple more months to see the first signals of that.

Merry Switchmas everyone?!
