At yesterday’s strategy briefing, Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima announced the first details on the company’s partnership with developer DeNA in making mobile games for smartphones. The first game announced is called Miitomo and it may not be exactly what fans were hoping for when this partnership was first announced.
Miitomo is a communication-based application for mobile phones. Users will be able to create their own Mii avatars to interact with other players and ask friends questions about their hobbies, lifestyles and interests. The game is intended to be a conversation starter and way to connect between friends.
Miitomo, and the other games Nintendo is working on as part of the partnership with DeNA are expected to release sometime in 2017.
