Today Nintendo has released a video detailing the history of the Pokémon franchise leading up to Pokémon X and Y.

The video is a great watch for some nice backstory. (Warning: any Pokémon fans watching this video will immediately have nostalgia attacks and get a strong urge to play any of these games.)
