Following the reveal on Weekly Famitsu, Today Koei Tecmo released the first batch of direct feed screenshots and artwork of the upcoming new chapter of the Nobunaga's Ambition series, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi.

The most important evolution the game brings to the series is the Will system, that embodies the will each daimiyo (warlord) in the game will have. It influences battle, internal policies, goals and more. Depending on the Will system, command, power management and tactics will change dramatically. This gives realism to the behavior of each daimyo.

Each warlord has an idea for the future and ideals according to the Will system, and will act differently even under the same circumstances. For instance, in diplomacy, instead of just judging according to power and friendship, they will also decide an alliance following their own will.

The quality in terms of graphics has also been improved, with the map of Japan becoming 100 times more detailed compared to the previous games, populated by over 2.000 daimiyo and retainers. It's the largest number ever for the series, and every character has his own hand-drawn visuals setting him apart.

Below you can see a comparison between the map in Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence (left) and Taishi (right), showcasing the area of Sekigahara.

The game won't just include major historical events, but also many taken from anecdotes that focus on each warlord's lifetime and personality. Music will also be more refined compared to previous games of the series, capturing the harmony and sound of the Sengoku Jidai.

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi will release in Japan this winter for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
