Okay, well not exactly.

Square Enix told Eurogamer that the recently uncovered Nosgoth game--a game that was filed as "War For Nosgoth" back in February--is definitely in development, and is a multiplayer game set in the Legacy of Kain universe. Does that make it a sequel to the franchise that spawned the Blood Omen and Soul Reaver series? Not according to Square Enix community manager George Kelion.

"Nosgoth is not being developed by Crystal Dynamics, nor are they working on a Legacy of Kain game right now," Kelion said. "And while our game is set in the world of Nosgoth, it's very much on a separate branch to both the Soul Reaver and Blood Omen series.

"Sorry to be so cagey," he continued. "There will be an official announcement in due course when we'll reveal Nosgoth properly, so we can't go into tons of detail just at the moment. Everyone at Square Enix is really excited by the game and we're all looking forward to lifting the veil of secrecy in the future.”

There will not be any announcements or details revealed at E3 next week, but hopefully we don't have to wait too long to find out what Kain, Raziel, and their brood have been up to in the world of Nosgoth.
