Notch Denies Wii U Version of Minecraft, He Loves Nintendo but Has too Much Work Already

There have been rumors floating around about a Wii U version of Minecraft, but creator Markus “Notch” Persson just took to Twitter to deny the existence of any plans about it.

I am not aware of any plans to release a Wii U version of Minecraft.

He also clarified that he agrees it would make sense, but he simply has too much work to think about it.

I agree a Wii U version would make sense, btw. The only reason for no current plans is we’ve got too much work already. I <3 Nintendo.

That’s definitely a pity, even if, to be fair, Minecraft runs on so many platforms that it’s hard to find another port strictly necessary. If you really want it on Wii U you can still hold on to hope. It could still happen in the future since he’s just talking about present plans.
