Cosplay and Highlights from The New York Anime Festival

This past weekend DualShockers was fortunate enough to cover the World Cyber Games tournament in New York City. The event was held in conjunction with the annual New York Anime Festival. So in between rounds (when the WCG would spend half an hour basically giving away swag. Brendan, Brion, and Myself lurked throughout the Anime festivals aisles. There is no other place on earth where you can walk up to random women in scantily clad outfits, all the while sporting a semi-perverted grin, with camera in hand and ask to take a picture to have them just smile and say “sure!” If this place does exist, Brendan, Brion, and myself are all in agreement that we are going to give up this video game blogging gig and move to this sacred land as soon as possible.

I must say this was my first real experience with cosplay and have to say it was pretty fun and pretty wild! To our suprise plenty of people came dressed as gaming characters, probably as many that came dressed up as Anime people. By the 2nd day Brendan and I actually had a fun game going on. What was the name of said game you ask? Why non other than: “is it a man?” Where after we would take a questionable photo we go into detail in search of balls and/or an Adams apple. Good times had by all. To check out all the Anime convention Cosplay characters and highlights check out the gallery below!
