Which each passing week, the library of upcoming games for Nintendo's Switch grows. This time it's FDG Entertainment confirming that the popular Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas is coming to the hybrid system. While the game was said to be headed towards a Nintendo console, FDG confirmed it was the Switch in a response tweet:

This will mark the first Nintendo system that Oceanhorn has been available for as it released on the Xbox One and PS4 but skipped out on the Wii U.

The game concerns the quest of a son to find his missing father. With the help of a mysterious notebook, the boy must embark through the islands of Uncharted Seas to battle monsters, discover magic, and uncovered treasure that will help him on his quest. The comparisons to the Zelda franchise have been numerous since the game's initial 2013 release on iOS.

FDG did not comment on the possibility of Oceanhorn's sequel, Knights of the Lost Realm, coming to the Switch as well. This title has only been announced for PC and mobile devices.

For now, we can enjoy the fact that another game of respectable pedigree is coming to the Switch for a 2017 release. It may be an older game but it might signal that future games published by FDG, including the sequel, will also be on Nintendo's radar.
