2016 is only a few days in and already one of the most buzzed-about topics of the year is the introduction of VR to a wider audience, and now you can get a taste of the future with the first pre-orders for the Oculus Rift beginning in less than 48 hours.

A new update from the official Oculus blog revealed that pre-orders for the Oculus Rift VR headset will begin on January 6th, 2016 at 8am PT, though no pricing details have been confirmed at this time – most previous reports and rumors indicate it being around upwards of $350 in price. Pre-orders of the Rift will also include free copies of Lucky’s Tale and Eve: Valkyrie with purchases.

In addition to pre-orders being opened for the VR device, Oculus founder Palmer Luckey will also be hosting an AMA session on Reddit on January 6th, 2016 at 6pm PT, while this week’s CES 2016 is also likely to reveal plenty of new information on the upcoming VR device.
