The news that Titanfall will be an Xbox One/Xbox 360/PC exclusive for the whole lifetime of the title surprised many, since there were many rumors around hinting to a timed exclusive (a good lesson on taking rumors with a grain of salt) but for those that want to see the developer work on PS4 there's still hope, as Co-Founder Vince Zampella confirmed on Twitter.

Zampella explicitly mentioned, responding to a fan's question, that the studio will definitely work on PS4, just not for the first Titanfall game.

He also clarified that the developers were initially aware only of the launch exclusivity for the title, but afterwards EA made a deal for permanent exclusivity, about which the folks at Respawn learned only recently.

Zampella continued by stating his appreciation for Microsoft's and Electronic Arts support in making Titanfall.

He finally mentioned that plans for any sequel past the first Titanfall aren't in place yet, so we shouldn't get too eager.

Of course we don't know if Respawn's first non-exclusive title will be Titanfall's sequel or something entirely different, but if you'd like to see them tackle Sony's upcoming console, you might find solace in the fact that it'll happen. When and how is unknown for now, but it will.
