NIS America has rolled out the first of two updates on the official website for the dungeon crawler Operation Babel: New Tokyo Legacy, coming to PlayStation Vita and PC on May 16 in North America and May 19 in Europe.

The update details various systems found within the RPG, including: Game Concept, Battle System, and Strengthening.

Players will begin as a student at Hinowa Academy as they are selected to join the special forces unit called the "Xth Squad", a group that has fought through countless battles, putting their superhuman abilities to the test. Monsters are attacking civilians in the city labyrinth and it's up to the player to put a stop to them.

Furthermore, new additions to Operation Babel include a finely tuned difficulty curve and the new "Cross Blood System."

The publisher details the battle system:

Unity Skills

Unity Skills are special skills that can be unleashed when all team members cooperate. There are three types of Unity Skills: BRAVE, MAGIC, and ACADEMY. Time your Unity Skills correctly to maximize their impact!

XTND Skills/Spells

A brand-new feature added on Operation Babel, which further empowers skills and spells by allowing players to equip them with special items. Regardless of a team member's Blood Code, the equipped item can use these abilities given by these special items.

The Rise & Drop System

Just like in Operation Abyss, the more battles you survive, the more dangerous the labyrinth becomes. With the Rise & Drop system, players have a good understanding that incoming danger also means potential rewards.

Additionally, players will be able to strengthen their character by gaining EXP in battle and leveling up their "Blood Codes", this will unlock new skills and spells. Players will also be able to create strong items forged from items dropped by enemies after a fight. However, sometimes the player will find junk weapons and materials that will need to be identified and used to make stronger weapons or items.

In case you missed it, the publisher also provided details on the main characters found throughout the story.
