Otomedius Excellent Released, Value Priced

I’ve never been especially big on Konami’s shmups (excluding Parodius), but it always pleases me to see games like this come out in the west. Konami’s latest entry in the Otomedius series, Otomedius Excellent, is now out in American game stores everywhere (well, I’m not sure how big the release is but it’s definitely out there), and it’s only $29.99, a good price for those of us who aren’t big enough shmup fans to get $60 of value out of a shoot-em-up. Though, if you’re willing to spend some more cash, you can always pick up the $49.99 Special Edition that comes with a pillowcase (support releases of sexy pillowcases in the west), an artbook, and a soundtrack disc.

If I could I’d be saving my cash up for an (NTSC-compatible) import copy of Do-Don-Pachi Dai-Fukkatsu instead, but either one of these would be good purchases. Though I’d rather support bullet hell shmups than your average hori shmup, but that’s just me. More shmups for everyone!
