After launching one year ago, Blizzards Entertainment's Overwatch has grown into a worldwide phenomenon with over 30 million players across consoles and PC worldwide, with the game's Anniversary Event the perfect time to jump into the game for new players.

Coinciding with the Anniversary Event running now in-game, a Free Game Weekend is now available for Overwatch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC that lets new players jump into the game completely free for a limited time.

Other than console players needing either a PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold subscription, anyone looking to hop into Overwatch for free can download and play the game now through May 29th, 2017 at 11:59pm PT.

New players will have access to the full game (other than Competitive Play), while also having the ability to progress, earn Loot Boxes, unlock skins, and earn other loot. As usual, any players that try out the game for free this weekend will be able to carry over their progress into the full game if they decide to purchase. Luckily, the game is also discounted for the run of the promotion, with the standard version of the game on PC discounted to $29.99, while the newly-released Game of the Year Edition is now priced at $39.99 on consoles and PC.

Overwatch is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
