Overwatch Surpasses 20 Million Player Mark

on October 11, 2016 5:38 PM

With the internet frenzied debate today over which character has the cutest new Halloween skin, one piece of notable information has gotten buried, and that’s that Overwatch has passed the 20 million player mark.

“We also want to share the news that Overwatch has crossed a new milestone—20 million players—making this special holiday treat all the sweeter,” Blizzard said in a press release.

It’s important to note that this number only represents the number of accounts created, and not the current number of people playing. Regardless, for a new IP — even by Blizzard’s standards — to come out and be one of the biggest hits of 2016 is quite the feat.
