Well it may not be as flashy as a new trailer or two, but Paradox Interactive has committed to running a developer diary every Friday from now until Europa Universalis IV releases next year. EU4 is the next in Paradox's popular line of strategy titles bearing the same name known for making strategy complex, even to the point of frustration sometimes.

In this first diary, the development team discusses the province system for EU4, and how it improves on the problems they had with the last game, specifically the graphics. While it doesn't tell us too much about the game, it does give an interesting peek into their thought process designing the map. If you're a fan of the series, the diaries will certainly be worth following.
