Get ready to bang your drums again. Today Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that its upcoming rhythm game Patapon Remastered will be hitting the PlayStation Store on August 1st, 2017.

In addition to the reveal of the release date, some pre-order bonuses for the game were announced as well. While they aren't in-game items, players that pre-order will receive five exclusive PlayStation Network Avatars, each based around the characters of Kibapon, Tatepon, Warrior, Yaripon, and Yumipon. In addition to that, PlayStation Plus members who pre-order the game will get it at a 20% discount, bringing the total price from $14.99 to $11.99.

Patapon Remastered was originally announced during the 2016 PlayStation Experience, along with LocoRoco Remastered and PaRappa the Rapper Remastered. Since then both of those games have been released. The same day, some 4K screenshots of the game were revealed. SCE Japan Studio then remained relatively quiet about the game until E3 2017, where a brand new demo for the game was revealed.

Patapon Remastered is an complete remaster of the original PSP game of the same name. Players are tasked with matching the drumbeats they see on screen in order to command troops.

The original Patapon was released back in February 26th, 2008, and is available exclusively on the PSP.
