PAX 2010: Ubisoft Introduces Outland for XBLA and PSN

With the success of their previous arcade-like shooter Super Stardust HD, Finnish game developer, Housemarque is in the process of making a platform game called Outland. Being published by Ubisoft, they’re also making another PS3 exclusive game called Dead Nation, that will be very similar to Super Stardust HD. But Outland is a bit more special. Outland has been announced to not only be available for the PS3, but will also be available for the XBLA.

The game’s purpose is to have players “attempt to tilt the balance of light and dark in a world facing its own demise.”

So what kind of game can people expect? From what Ubisoft has said, think about it as “epic adventures such as the Prince of Persia series,” mixed with Ikaruga.

In my opinion, from the screen, it looks like a scene for a modern-day Shadow of the Colossus. But maybe that’s just me.

Being a gamer since the age of 6 (thanks to my parents), a desire to pursue a career in the gaming industry has been my passion ever since I laid my hands on Sonic the Hedgehog. Some of my favorite games include Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, Duke Nukem 3D, Final Fantasy 6, Killer7 and both the Devil May Cry and Resident Evil series.
