Today the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shinbun had a definitely interesting ad printed on its pages, showcasing what could be a character of the new Persona.

The ad, which you can see below (courtesy of Twitter user Yuki Sei) says in Japanese:

Notice:

Tonight I will be at the Nippon Budokan.

The Phantom

The ad is marked with the Persona 5 logo (with "Persona 5 starts" in Japanese just above the logo) and website, and it definitely refers to tomorrow's concert at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, aptly titled "Persona Super Live 2015 in Nippon Budokan: Night of the Phantom"

Examining the script, made with newspaer scraps, it seems to be a classic notice from a masked thief, or a criminal, and that's exactly who "The Phantom" seems to be. Of course it also probably means that "The Phantom" will be revealed tomorrow.

Interestingly, The Phantom's eye design reminds Persona 4's shadows (even if they aren't yellow, which adds to the mystery), and he bears a striking resemblance with Persona 5's protagonist. Could The Phantom be the hero's shadow, or maybe the hero himself? Another possibility is that The Phantom might be the hero's rival/opposite.

The mask also resembles the concert's teaser art, which shows the hero (from behind) in the act of wearing it, possibly supporting the possibility that he (or his shadow) is the Phantom.

We'll probably know in a few hours.
