Atlus, the developer and publisher behind the hit game Persona 5, and iam8bit have announced that the vinyl version of the Persona 5 soundtrack is now available to pre-order.

There will be two versions of the vinyl itself. The first version, the Essential Edition, will contain a select number of songs from the soundtrack, picked out specifically by the Atlus Sound Team. This edition will include four records, and will be available for $100. The second version, the Deluxe Edition, will include every single song from the soundtrack, and will be limited to 1,000 copies. This edition will include six records, and will be available for $175.

In addition to the vinyl soundtrack, during the months leading up to it's vinyl release, iam8bit will be creating videos detailing the behind the scenes process of the vinyl soundtrack, including videos about the following:

  • Mastering - They'll visit their favorite mastering studio, Infrasonic, and chronicle how music is mixed for the retro technology that is vinyl.
  • Test Presses - They'll show you what it's like to create lacquers & test presses, which serve as the benchmark for the vinyl's audio quality.
  • Vinyl Production - They'll hang with their friends from Noiseland at their factory in France, capturing the analog magic of melting "wax" and stamping records. It's pretty crazy to see because some of these machines are nearly 100 years old!
  • Packaging - They'll reveal just how much work goes into creating a unique packaging experience from design to printing to assembly.
  • Artwork - They'll reveal the "Mystery Album Art," the result of an intimate collaboration between iam8bit, ATLUS, SEGA, and a to-be-announced, top-secret artist.

While there is no exact date as of yet, the Persona 5 vinyl soundtrack will be available later this year. If you want to pre-order the soundtrack, you can do so here.

Persona 5 was released on April 7th, 2017 on PS4, and PS3.
