Microsoft is scheduled to hold an event in October where they unveil several new products. A leaked list previewing the event schedule reveals the Surface 4 as well as new Lumia phones. However, one rumor also names an ‘Xbox micro’, a slimmer version of the Xbox One without a blu-ray disc drive. This fits the original speculation that the Xbox One would not have a disc drive at all.
This smaller version of the Xbox One would be about one-third the size of the current models, and would likely feature a larger hard drive due to the removal of the disc drive. However, Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, recently took to Twitter and answered a fan’s question denying these rumors completely.
@av_xz Not real.

The Xbox One has only been on the market for about two years, but rumors of a slimmer version of both it and its competitor, the PlayStation 4 are rather common.
