During a Final Fantasy 30th anniversary event held today in Yokohama, Square Enis announced that the free-to-play mobile title Pictlogica Final Fantasy ≒ will be released for Nintendo 3DS.

If you're wondering, the "≒" means "approximately equal and is actually part of the title of the game.

The game is a puzzle RPG, and will be released on the Nintendo eShop in Japan on July 13th as a download-only title. Of course, it will remain free-to-play on 3DS as well, like it is on mobile.

The 3DS version of the game will include over 300 completely revamped puzzles designed in nostalgic pixel art. Players will also be able to fight classic enemies in quest battles, and collect 160 beloved characters from the Final Fantasy series.

Below you can check out a trailer and the first screenshots.

During the same event, we also got the announcement of a new update for Final Fantasy XV coming at the end of this month (and adding the off-road Regalia), and new footage of Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age.
