Pikmin 3’s 2.0.0 Update Upgrades Stylus and Touchscreen Control Options

on June 1, 2014 11:20 AM

An update has been released for Pikmin 3 which upgrades stylus touchscreen options, and automatically sets it as the default controls.

Update 2.0.0 allows players to tap on the GamePad controller to switch between characters, toss them around and simply just control them more accurately.

The Stylus control also adds the following new buttons to the GamePad screens:

  • one for each of Pikmin 3‘s main characters: Alph, Brittany and Charlie
  • one each to call up the Apps menu, dismiss followers and a link to fruit juice

It’s important to note that the game’s physical controls for calling and moving characters are still available.

The update will download automatically, once the game is booted the following  message will be displayed just as Twitter user James Scott discovered.

Purchasers of Mario Kart 8 will have the chance to grab a free copy of Pikmin 3, however much patience is required.
