For those missing the old-school gaming of yesteryear say hello to The Bitfather’s Pixel Heroes: Byte & Magic for PC via Steam.

In this retro-RPG/Roguelike game, an ancient cult named The Son of Dawn is recruiting the townsmen for their mysterious cause, to awaken an unknown spirit.

It is up to player to stop them before the spirit destroys all. As you go about your journey you’ll be able to explore a randomized world full of funny events, deadly dungeons and “weird” NPCs.

There will be a choice of three heroes that will accompany you on your journey to help defeat the evil forces that threaten the township of Pixton.

Byte & Magic will feature thirty unique hero classes to unlock, each with individual skills and attributes. Players can pick between an array of axes, spears, maces, swords, shields, bows, crossbows, spells and prayers for combat. There will be thirteen dungeons to explore.

Lastly there will be three campaigns to unlock, each with its own final dungeon and boss and a detailed graveyard where you can mourn your dead heroes, compare their statistics and see which of their choices led to their tragic death.

Check out the gallery below for a looker at the game.

Former genius and a woman of mystery and power, whose power is exceeded only by her mystery, Dana Abercrombie has been playing video games since birth (yes birth...we did say "genius"). Despite her secret desire of wanting to give it all up to become a gorgeous billionaire, Dana is most passionate about video games and films often times getting in many heated debates resulting in being thrown out of many gatherings. Despite having a degree in English AND Journalism (multi-tasking FTW!) from the University at Albany-SUNY, she is currently interested in perusing a degree at Yale Law School, because one should never give up on a dream of becoming a gorgeous billionaire...and knowing how to sue someone as a result of those heated debates
