Frontier Developments released the free Summer Update for its popular PC game Planet Coaster today, adding things such as fireworks, new Video and Image scenery, a flatride sequencer, and painted wooden coasters.

Players can use fireworks in Planet Coaster to boost guests' happiness and celebrate things such as Bonfire Night or the Fourth of July, and can design them through a new Display Sequencer. Fireworks can be triggered by other park events, and can even be constructed to go along with music. The game's new Video and Image Scenery allows players to place their own image and videos onto customizable wall panels in Planet Coaster. The game currently only supports WebM video files, but accepts JPG, PNG, TIIF, and BMP images.

The Flatride Sequencer allows players to take complete control on how some of their rides run, and the the abillity to paint Wooden Coasters allows players to flair up the normally drab looking roller coaster. The update also adds a variety of new rides, scenarios, biomes, and quality-of life improvements, all of which you can check out in the game's full list of patch notes.

Frontier Developments also released some new screenshots and a launch trailer for the update, which you can check out below. Planet Coaster is currently available on PC via Steam, and is currently discounted to $30.14 as part of the Steam Sale. The game is also available at retail in certain areas.
