Platinum Games, who are known for producing over-the-top action games like Bayonetta, Vanquish and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, will be producing a game based on Nickelodeon’s The Legend of Korra later this year with Activision as publisher.
The game will be written by series writer Tim Hendrick and take place between the second and third seasons (or books). As the Avatar, Korra will have air, water, earth and fire bending powers which she’ll use against her foes. These enemies include mech tanks, chi blockers and other benders who she’ll face in 3-on-3 bending arena battles.
There will also be a Legend of Korra game for the 3DS but this one will be produced by Webfoot Technologies. Unlike its action orientated console counterpart, the handheld version will be a turn-based strategy game.
The Legend of Korra will be released as a downloadable game for the PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One this fall.
