Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale Beta Causes Possible Stage/Character Leak

on July 29, 2012 3:11 AM

A few weeks before their four character reveal at Gamescom, SuperBot Entertainment may have been preempted by some enterprising dataminers. Images today hint that PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale may have had its files leaked from the current beta, revealing far more than the intended number of characters meant to be unveiled in mid-August. The characters include Spike (Ape Escape), Raiden (Metal Gear Solid Rising Revengeance), Nariko (Heavenly Sword), Ratchet, Sir Daniel Fortesque (MediEvil), Sackboy (Little Big Planet), the new Dante (DMC – Devil May Cry), and either Evil Cole, Nathan Hale, or Both.

Update: After the image was cleared up, it seems like it’s evil Cole. This actually flies in the face of SuperBot stating that there would be one character per franchise.

Stages shown include Paris from Sly Cooper, Black Rock Stadium (Twisted Metal), Columbia (Bioshock: Infinite), Alden’s Tower (Infamous), Invasion (Killzone) and a Loco Roco stage. The leaked image also includes a possible stage based on the Stowaway mission / plane stage from Uncharted 3. We’ll find out if some of this is true in two weeks at Gamescom, but this is a pretty huge leak if true.

Update: The datamining also possibly leaked multiple modes and options that include

low gravity
taunt_for_ap
team_momentum
pulsing_invisibility
ap_on_respawn
ap_loss_on_eject
ap_loss_on_crumple
ap_loss_on_twitch
slow_down_trial
smash_objects
dodge_or_die
king_of_hill
team_bodyguard
capture_the_flag
team_elimination
iron_fist
ap_steal_on_kill
sumo_ring (This will be something interesting forĀ  smash players)
Update: The last 3 stages are confirmed to be
Stowaways (Uncharted)
San Francisco (Resistance)
and Timestation (Ape Escape)
