Sony Computer Entertainment just made the 2.0.17 version of the PlayStation App available for Android and iOS. The new version accompanies the release of the PS4 firmware update 2.0 “Masamune,” that isn’t yet downloadable at the moment of this writing.

You can find the new version of the PlayStation App for Android here, and for iOS here, weighing respectively 3.3 and 4.3 megabytes.

The changelog is as follows:

  • The home screen has been redesigned.
  • Tablet layout is now supported.
  • [Players You May Know] will now appear on your Friends list.
  • You can now create a link for your Friend request and share it with other people.
  • You can now search for other players using their real names.

Interestingly, you can now also send a friend request via email or text message, and it will be automatically treated as a real name request as well.

Below you can see a few pictures with the new visual layout. Quite spiffy, isn’t it?
