PlayStation Exclusive Atelier Sophie Gets New Screenshots: Characters, Day/Night Cycle and Weather

Today Tecmo Koei and Gust released a new large batch of screenshots of the upcoming JRPG Atelier Sophie: Alchemist of the Mysterious Book, coming to Japanese store shelves on September 25th for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita.

We get to take a glimpse on the battle system, defined “logical.” You have to determine the actions for all party members at the start of each turn, forcing the player to think logically on how the battle may unfold. Once the turn starts, all characters and enemies will act in sequence according to the order of initiative.

Characters can also support others’ attacks or defend them from attacks via a defensive stance.

The game will include day/night cycle and changing weather, and this will influence not only graphics, but also the monsters encountered, the materials gathered and story events. With the passing of time Sophie will also become fatigued, indicated by the LP stat. The player will have to decide when to rest and when to continue adventuring.

We also meet the shopkeeper Cornelia, the watch smith Harol Simens and the cafe master Horst Basler. You can check everyone out in the gallery below.
