It has been a bit of a roller-coaster for PlayStation Network users lately, and this evening seems to be bring new problems, with Sony's online service causing login, online gameplay and PlayStation Store issues for many users, that are crowding social networks with complaints.

While the official PSN status page still hasn't been updated, DownDetector definitely showcases the problem, with a large spike in down reports, as you can see below.

While the issue seems widespread, looking at the volume of complaints, and hitting both North America and Europe, not everyone is affected. Yet, if you are, you can find comfort in knowing that you're not alone.

Hopefully the issue will be resolved quickly, and we'll keep you updated on any further developments.

Update 3: while Sony Computer Entertainment still hasn't given the "All Green," my own PSN went back online, and the number of reports on DownDetector has bottomed, indicating that the situation is on the mend. The issue was relatively quick this time, with its peak lasting a little more than half a hour.

Update 4: the official PSN status page has now given the "All Green."
