PlayStation Now Closed Beta Coming to the UK This Spring

Gamers in the UK will be in with the chance to partake in the PlayStation Now private beta this Spring, as announced by Sony.

The private beta will begin this spring and offer up a handful of titles for players to test out free of charge, or at least for the initial starting period, but later on in beta testing Sony will be testing out pricing models for rentals and such, so don’t expect a completely free ride.

Still, it’s a nice showing by the firm and those who’re interested in testing out the PlayStation Now service can register their interest here.

If selected you’ll be able to play the PS3 version of Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed The Last of Us as well as God of War: Ascension, Rayman Legends, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, Just Cause 2, The Walking Dead, Saints Row: The Third – Full Package and Codemasters’ Dirt 3.

You’ll need some powerful internet though as a 5mbps connection is recommended for the best user experience. The closed beta will be for the PS4 to begin with, with PS Vita, PS3 and various other Sony devices being added to the compatibility list as time goes on.

PlayStation Now has been tested in North America over the last couple of months and from what we’ve heard from those who’ve used the service it seems to get the job done, so lets hope all sails smoothly when it docks in at the United Kingdom.
