For years, PlayStation Plus has become a staple of the PlayStation online experience and while the service has now become mandatory for users to subscribe on PS4 for online access, the service’s value has been more than justified with monthly free games and discounts on new releases, though smaller incremented subscriptions will be receiving a price hike in some regions.
Sony revealed in a statement that the price of 1-month and 3-month subscriptions for PlayStation Plus subscriptions will be receiving a raise in price for Europe. Specifically, 1-month subscriptions will go from £5.49 to £5.99, while 3-month subscriptions will rise from £11.99 to £14.99.
The full statement from Sony Computer Entertainment UK explained rise of price in the 1-month and 3-month subscriptions below:
“We are dedicated to bringing PlayStation Plus members the best possible service with the most compelling content. From 1 September we will be increasing the price of monthly and three month PlayStation Plus subscriptions in line with market conditions. We will continue to invest in PlayStation Plus to ensure an unparalleled experience, featuring the best quality games and features.”
At this time the 1-year membership’s price is still the same at £39.99, and the 1-month and 3-month price hike is only appearing to affect regions in Europe for the time being, though stay tuned for more information if further rises in price will affect other regions.
